Ghana Re, 2015 results
The Ghanaian reinsurer “Ghana Re” has posted, as at 31/12/2015, a turnover of 125 552 838 GHS (33 million USD), up by 20% (in local currency) compared to the previous year.
In 2015, the non-life production of the reinsurer amounted to 114 382 731 GHS (USD 30.17 million), up by 19.2%. Its life portfolio, however, experienced a more significant growth. The life sales totaled 11 170 107 GHS (USD 2.9 million), an increase of 32.25% compared to 2014.
Despite this increase of activity, the technical results published by the reinsurer remained mixed. Non life insurance recorded a technical loss of 29 106 494 GHS (USD 7.6 million) while life activities generated a technical profit of 3 213 877 GHS (470 844 USD), increasing by 43.3%.
