Global reinsurance market results in 2015
According to a recent study by the Association of reinsurance professionals in France (Apref), the global reinsurance market achieved in 2015 a turnover of 240 billion USD, down by 2% compared to 2014.
As in previous years, the sector remains dominated by the world's top five groups, namely, Munich Re (36.1 billion USD), Swiss Re (32.2 billion USD), Hannover Re (19.6 billion USD ) SCOR (15.4 billion USD) and Berkshire Hathaway (13.4 billion USD).
The market share of the five groups showed a slight increase from 48.2% in 2014 to 48.6% in 2015.
