Journalism Awards 2018: opening of registration for the third edition
Continental Re has announced the opening of the third edition of “Journalism Awards”. The deadline for registration has been set at January 31, 2018. The contest is open to French and English-speaking African journalists, specialized in the insurance sector.
Three rewards were awarded during the last edition as follows:
- The journalist-of-the-year award, for journalists specialized in African insurance and reinsurance, has been awarded to Gareth Stokes (South Africa) of Commercial Risk Africa for his article entitled “Botswana in search of growth”.
- The award for best feature article went to Josiane Kouagheu (Cameroon) for her article “Agriculture is not appealing to insurers in Cameroon”.
- The award for best analysis and best comments on the insurance and reinsurance industry was granted to Isaac Khisa (Uganda) of Independent Publications for his article entitled “Insurance industry tops shs 700 bn”.
