Motor insurers brought to justice for raising tariffs

Kenyan insurers are asking tribunals to dismiss the case lodged against them by the association of “Matatu” owners, (minibuses used for personal transport), which strongly opposes the increase of insurance premium rates. Insurers, backed by their professional association, argued that the charges pressed by Matatu’s 16 associations are groundless. Premium rates have more than doubled for Matatu’s 14-seater minibuses.
