The Gabonese insurance market: Result of the first nine months 2017
According to the Gabonese federation of insurance companies (FEGASA), the Gabonese insurance market generated, during the first nine months of 2017, a turnover of 76.5 billion FCFA (127.9 million USD), down by 5% during the same period of 2016.
Despite this significant decline, Assinco recorded a significant increase in its turnover: + 47% to 14.97 billion FCFA (25.04 million USD).
Thanks to this result, the company ranks second on the market after the Ogar group: 24.55 billion FCFA (41.07 million USD).
The two insurers are followed by the groups Saham: 10.12 billion FCFA (16.93 million USD) and Axa Gabon: 9.49 billion FCFA (15.87 million USD).
The aforementioned groups alone account for more than 77% of the overall life and non-life premiums.
Ogar group continues to dominate the market with its two companies, one non life insurance (16.9 billion FCFA, 28.27 million USD) and the other life insurance (7.6 billion FCFA, 12.7 million USD).
