Scor attempting to come back to the Iranian market

The group Scor was, before the embargo, one of the historic partners of Iranian insurers. Last March 5, Victor Peignet, CEO of the French reinsurer, met with Abdolnasser Hemmati, president of Bimeh Markazi Iran with a view to examining the Scor’s cooperation opportunities with the entire companies of the market.

Since July 2015 and the lifting of sanctions against Iran, numerous reinsurers have been exploring the market. Lloyd’s and broker Ed are among the players that have recently reestablished contact.

According to AM Best, the premiums underwritten in 2014 on the local market reached 7.5 billion USD, a figure that boosts Iran as one of the most prominent markets in the region.
