Tunis Re, results for the first half of 2017
Tunis Re has published its half-yearly results as at 30 June 2017. The Tunisian reinsurer showed a 5.5% increase in its turnover compared to the same period of 2016.
The Retakaful activity recorded a more sharp increase of 8.5% to 5.89 million TND (2.44 million USD). The loss ratio improved by 10 points from 57% to 47%. Financial income amounted to 8.1 million TND (3.35 million USD), a figure close to that achieved in 2016.
On 28 July 2017, the rating agency A.M. Best also confirmed the ratings B + of financial strength and BBB- of credit for Tunis Re. The outlook of the two ratings remains stable.
