The National Insurance Council (CNA) has published data showing that the Algerian market's turnover for the first quarter of 2025 reached 56.9 billion DZD (423.8 million USD).
This represents a 13.3% increase on the 50.2 billion DZD (370.7 million USD) recorded a year earlier.
The direct market posted 53.5 billion DZD (398.4 million USD) in written premiums, compared with 46.8 billion DZD (345.6 million USD) in the same period of 2023, reflecting a 14.2% growth.
Direct premium volume is broken down as follows:
- Non-life: 46.7 billion DZD (347.8 million USD)
- Life and health insurance: 6.5 billion DZD (48.4 million USD)
- Takaful: 234.8 million DZD (1.7 million USD)
International reinsurance acceptances amounted to 3.4 billion DZD (25.3 million USD), up by 1.7% over one year.
