Continental Reinsurance Opens a Representative Office in Rwanda

Continental Re has received approval from the National Bank of Rwanda to establish a representative office in Kigali.

Operating under the name Continental Reinsurance (R) Limited, the new entity began operations on 10 August 2026.

The move is part of the reinsurer’s strategy to strengthen its presence in East Africa, particularly in Rwanda, one of the region’s most dynamic and well-regulated insurance markets.
