Covid-19 Delta variant: are vaccinated people contagious?

August 20, 2021

vaccine Covid-19In recent weeks, the publication of an internal memorandum from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revived the debate on the possibility of transmitting Covid-19 while being vaccinated.

The latter indicates that the viral load for a vaccinated person would be equal to that of an unvaccinated one.

It is important to emphasize that the CDC's preliminary report has been misinterpreted. The study focuses on subjects with breakthrough infections. It definitely does not call into question the 85 to 90% of cases where the vaccine is effective and where the risk of transmitting the virus is lower.

The recent studies are based on the fact that the viral load of vaccinated infected people decreases faster than that of unvaccinated infected people.
