Crash of Lao Airlines flight, the airliner compensated

An ATR 72-600 of Lao Airlines crashed on October 16. The aircraft, which had been delivered seven months earlier, was probably disturbed by bad weather. The accident resulted in the death of 49 people including many foreigners.
The insurer Lao-Viet Insurance Company made an initial payment of 4 million USD to the carrier as aircraft hull insurance. Other payments will follow, as compensation of victims will be disbursed according to national and international regulations. The claim is likely to reach 100 million USD.
