The California Department of Insurance revealed that, as of 13 February 2025, insurers have paid out more than 6.9 billion USD to cover losses caused by the devastating Los Angeles fires.
Insurance companies received 33 717 claims related to home and business damage, living costs and other disaster-related expenses. Motor claims totaled 5 597.
Some insurers, including Allstate, State Farm and Chubb, said they expected losses of over 1 billion USD.Read also| Natural disasters in the United States
