The Moroccan parliament adopted, on 8 July 2025, a bill amending the legal framework governing the country’s Basic Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO) system.
The proposed amendments include:
- unifying of the management of basic AMO schemes under the supervision of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS)
- the removal of student-specific insurance schemes
- raising the age limit for dependents (insured children) from 26 to 30
- clarifying eligibility criteria for the "AMO Tadamon" scheme meant for people with no income
