S & P improves the rating of Ace

Standard & Poor's has upgraded from AA- to AA the financial strength ratings of the core subsidiaries (North America, Europe, Bermuda) of Ace Ltd.

Ratings of its other subsidiaries of "high strategic importance" were improved from A+ to AA-.

All new ratings assigned are coupled with stable outlook.
