CCR: 2023 results

Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR)At its meeting held on 13 March 2024, the Board of Directors of Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR) approved the company's financial statements for 2023.

The company's turnover for the previous year ended 31 December stood at 1.228 billion EUR (1.4 billion USD), up by 13.8% over one year. The premium volume includes 93.3% of the natural catastrophe business, 6.5% of terrorist risks and 0.2% of exceptional risks.

The annual net profit increased by 50.7% from 67 million EUR (71.5 million USD) in 2022 to 101 million EUR (111.5 million USD) in 2023.

The French reinsurer has recorded a technical loss of 80 million EUR (88.2 million USD), marked by a high natural catastrophe claims experience totaling 1.371 billion EUR (1.5 billion USD).

The year was also marked by CCR's sale of a majority stake in its subsidiary CCR Re to the consortium formed by the SMABTP and MACSF groups. This transaction generated a capital gain, which enabled CCR to significantly increase its financial result to 182 million EUR (200.9 million USD) at end 2023.
