1 to 2% of uninsured drivers in 2013

In 2013, 1 to 2% of French motorists were uninsured (equivalent of 370,000 to 740,000 vehicles). This is what reveals the latest report of the Guarantee fund for compulsory insurance (FGAO). The fund launched at the same time its new prevention campaign under the slogan "Without insurance, discover the true cost of living."

According to the agency, 192 deaths have involved drivers without insurance in 2013. FGAO also announced having paid the same year 120.6 million USD as compensation and managed to get 1/6^th of that amount from those responsible of the uninsured accidents.
