1.4% increase of world premiums

According to the new Sigma study of Swiss Re, world insurance premiums have achieved an increase of 1.4% to 4 641 billion USD in 2013.

An increase, nevertheless, below the 2.5% recorded in 2012. The reinsurer justifies this slowdown by the "weakness of life insurance products [+0.7% to 2,608 trillion USD in 2013] in developed countries", especially in United States. The premiums recorded on the non-life market have increased by 2.3% to 2,033 trillion USD.
