16 companies would hold 80% of the local market in 2002

A survey conducted by Nigeria Re shows that 16 of the 116 insurers operating in the country received 80% of the premiums written in 2002. The 100 smaller companies may have to compete for a share of the market, estimated at 59 million USD.
