170 million USD to cover the cancellation risks of the Athens Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has underwritten a 170-million-USD insurance to cover the risks related to the cancellation of the Athens Olympic games (from August 13 to 29, 2004). Two brokers, Gras Savoye and Marsh have taken part in the elaboration of the insurance schemes.
