5 health insurance companies banned from activities

The Cooperative Health Insurance Council (CHIC) has ordered the immediate stop of activities for five insurance companies for non-compliance with rules of the health insurance system.

The insurers concerned are prohibited from issuing or renewing insurance contracts for a six-month period, renewable if these companies do not comply with CHIC's rules.

The identified infrigments include, in particular, the issuing of insurance documents without completing the required forms, contracts concluded with a health cover beyond the authorized maximum level or the absence of a guide booklet to inform the insured about their benefits and exemptions.
