86% of Emirati people do not have coverage for their assets

A comparative study by the website Souqalmal.com found that 86% of the residents in the United Arab Emirates have no insurance cover for their movable and real estate properties. Even worse, 52% do not regard the problem as a priority and feel unconcerned by this insurance default. Their attitude reflects a common sentiment of “disaster does not occur to me”. Out of the people polled, 10% are unaware of the possibility they have to insure their property and just 5% declared their property is not worthy of an insurance plan.
