Egypt: A law on microinsurance to be soon applied

As part of the initiatives aimed at facilitating access to insurance for the population, the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) is currently finalizing a law on microinsurance.

In a country where almost 40% of the population live below the poverty line, this project is designed not only to increase the insurance penetration rate but also to enable loans for small and medium enterprises, that is 97% of the local market.
