An Angolan insurance market with sustainable growth

Since 2001, when the “Insurance Activity” decree was promulgated, the Angolan market has witnessed a sustainable growth. Its development rate attained 185% during the 2004-2010 period.

In 2011, the non-life sector posted a premiums volume of nearly 900 million USD, with promising prospect for upcoming years thanks to the economic recovery and the increase in the purchasing power of Angolan citizens.

Other encouraging signs are looming ahead such as population growth and the fact that individuals as well as companies have gained awareness about the need to get insured.
