A microinsurance solution for nomadic farmers

The weather threats that may affect the breeding sector in the Sahel have pushed pastoral organizations in the region to gather in order to seek ways of protecting livestock. The talks were held in the presence of the secretary general of the Ministry of livestock production along with the coordinator for Africa of «Acting for life».

While livestock mortality covers are nothing new for sedentary pastoralists, the preferred solution for nomadic farmers would take the shape of a microinsurance product.
