Aegon has announced the cession of its Taiwanese life subsidiary

The Dutch insurer has announced the cession of its Taiwanese life subsidiary, which is witnessing difficulties, to the Zonghwei holding for the sum of 65 million EUR (84 million USD).
Aegon Taiwan, which started its life activities in 1993, is employing 500 people. It is represented by 750 insurance agents in Taiwan. In 2008, the company has posted a loss of 103 million EUR (145.2 million USD).
