AEGON reported a net loss of 1.1 billion EUR for 2008

The Dutch insurer, which received 3 billion EUR (4.2 billion USD) from the State, reported a net loss of 1.1 billion EUR (1.5 billion USD) in 2008 versus a net profit of 2.5 billion EUR (3.6 billion USD) in 2007. The group has also voiced fears over considerable depreciation of its assets in 2009.
