Aegon sells its Central and Eastern European operations

AegonThe Dutch insurer Aegon is selling its insurance, pension and asset management business in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Turkey. The sale to the Austrian insurer Vienna Insurance Group will amount to 830 million EUR (992,863 million USD). It should be concluded in H2 2021.

The transaction is part of the strengthening of the group's balance sheet. In the H1 2020, Aegon reported a 30% decrease in its underlying taxable profit.
