Agriculture, tenfold more of "micro-insured" than insured

According to Amadou Ndiagou Ndiaye, the general manager of the National Agriculture Insurance Company of Senegal (CNAAS), interviewed as part of the International Agricultural Fair (SIA) in Paris, agricultural microinsurance attracted some 30.000 producers, against only 3.000 for conventional insurance.

On the occasion of the SIA, a conference with the theme of "Agricultural microinsurance in West Africa: Realities and perspectives, was held by the Foundation of Agriculture and Rural Life (Fram); the Grameen Crédit Agricole and Planet Guarantee.
