AIG hopes to disengage from the reinsurer Transatlantic Re

The American insurer which was nationalized by the end of 2008 continues selling its assets. It also hopes to disengage gradually from the reinsurer Transatlantic Re in which it holds 59%. This withdrawal will bring AIGshareholding in Transatlantic Re down to 19.7%. This deal is going to benefit AIG 985 million USD.
