AIG willing to pay a 35 million USD fine

American International Group (AIG) has resorted to the settlement of a 35 million USD in order to avoid prosecution. New York State regulators have accused it of having underwritten business through two of its former subsidiary companies, American Life Insurance and Delaware American Life Insurance without being properly licensed.

Forgery of documents was also noticed. MetLife, which acquired this business in 2010, had to pay a fine of 60 million USD last March.
