Air India ensures its fleet for 26.75 million USD

Air India has ensured its air fleet (132 aircrafts estimated at a total of 10 billion USD) for a premium of 26.75 million USD.

According to a company's official, recent disasters linked to aviation industry (aircrafts disappearances, crashes, terrorism) have lead to an increase of premium' tariffs increase, making it harder to ensure an air fleet.

The cover is provided by New India Assurance (leading insurer), with AIG as main insurer.
