AM Best forecasts more mergers and acquisitions in reinsurance
According to AM Best, the January renewals have confirmed a stabilization of the terms and conditions offered on the reinsurance market. The agency, however, notes that profits remain under pressure. The market is pushing reinsurers to innovate, seek niches and new underwriting strategies based on the big data, the establishment of joint-ventures or research and development.
The merger and acquisition opportunities remain, nonetheless, among the most attractive options available to sustain reinsurers’ activities in the long run.
