APA Insurance, compensation of 16.7 million USD for the fire in the terminal

APA Insurance has closed the case of the fire at the arrival terminal of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A final payment of 16.7 million USD has been made by the insurer to the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

Lucy Mbugua, managing director of KAA, said at the cheque's presentation of APA, that the authority was satisfied of the amount of compensation and confident that it will cover the loss of the burned building.

As a reminder, a first payment of 5.7 million USD was made on December 2013. This payment brings the total compensation at 22.4 million USD.
