ASAC’s general assembly of: report on the local market

The general assembly of the Association des Sociétés d’Assurances du Cameroun (ASAC) was held on December 22, 2004 in Douala. On top of the agenda were the measures to be taken for the consolidation of clean-up and the sector growth.
The market comprises 21 companies seven of which are operating in life insurance. The 2003 turnover amounts to 84.1 billion FCFA (145 887 767 million USD) including all branches, with 12.7 billion FCFA (22 043 031 million USD) for the life branch, and 71.4 billion FCFA (123 744 736 million USD) for goods insurance.
