Africa - Insurance: Auditors have to keep the Commission informed

The new regulations adopted by the council of insurance ministers meeting on April 8, 2016 authorized the regional commission for insurance control (CRCA) to ask the auditor of an insurance or reinsurance company under its control to provide any information on the activities of that company.

The auditor is required to report to the CRCA, any decision taken by the leaders of an insurance company that could significantly affects the company on the financial and accounting level.
Any decision, taken by the leaders of the company, that could violate the law, jeopardise the business activity or lead to refusal to certify the accounts should also be reported to the CRCA.
