Aviva has announced a plan for the suppression of 4 000 jobs

Aviva has announced a plan for the release of 4 000 employees out of the 36 000 staff members in the United Kingdom, that is 11% of its total staff.
1000 jobs will be relocated in India within the framework of a scheme aiming at outsourcing 7 800 jobs toward this country before the end of 2007. These measures, which trigger the closure of some sites in the United Kingdom, shall enable the company to achieve cost savings up to 370 million EUR (468.8 million USD) per year.
