Aviva is back to profits

Aviva has reported a net profit of 2 billion GBP (3.2 billion USD) in 2013 compared to an after- tax loss of 3.1 billion EUR (5 billion USD) during the previous year. The poor 2012 results were attributed to the performance of the American subsidiary sold at the end of the year.

The life operating profit of the British subsidiary improved by 5% at 930 million GBP (1.5 billion USD) compared to 887 million EUR (1.4 billion USD) in 2012. At the group’s level, operating profits amounted to 2.05 billion GBP (3.38 billion USD), increasing by 6% compared to 2012.
