Axa is targeting microinsurance

Coveting the untapped potential of the emerging market, the AXA Group has increased its shares to 46% in the capital of MicroEnsure, a microinsurance specialist.

This transaction will allow the French insurer to develop its micoinsurance activity and distribute, among others, health, property and assistance insurance products, which are tailored to low-income populations.

A study conducted by Accenture in 2013 estimated that between 3 and 4 billion people are underinsured in the world, that is a shortfall of 30 to 50 billion USD for insurers.
