Capital opening for National Insurance Company

The Mauritian government announced the upcoming opening of the capital of National Insurance Company (former BA Insurance).
The company, which experienced some setbacks in the past, has been cleared of toxic assets. Its network, which expanded is now endowed with qualified staff.

The commercial bank SICOM, which already owns an insurance subsidiary, has expressed interest in such an operation. This acquisition would allow it to increase its market share and offer new products.
British player Prudential seems to be equally interested. Discussions with government officials took place in London last July.
