Angola: Change within the insurance supervisory body

Angolan financial authorities have changed the name of the insurance supervisory organization. Formerly known as the Institute of Insurance Supervision, this entity is now called "Angolan Agency of Regulation and Supervision of Insurance" (ARSEG).

This approach emphasizes the importance given by the authorities to the insurance industry.

Apart from name change, ARSEG has been endowed with reinforced response resources and new attributions. Indirect control gives way to direct supervision with preventive actions designed to reduce systemic risk.
