Climate change is an important issue for SMEs
According to a report published by Zurich Insurance Group, 78% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) believe that climate change will have a significant impact on their business. This study is based on a survey of 2600 companies 'managers s in 13 countries of Europe, America and Asia-Pacific. Among the most feared climatic events: heavy rainfall for 22% of the respondents and drought for 20% of the managers are mentioned.
Among the consequences of climate change on risks, nearly 36% of SMEs are concerned with damage to property and 26% loss of profit insurance. For 14% of the sample, the cost of energy and water as well as employees' health are also risks to be considered.
