Compulsory insurance for buildings

The Lagos State government has imposed compulsory insurance for buildings under construction and for structures above two floors.

The Lagos State Building Control Agency, (LASBCA), has said that this law has existed for a long time and that is has to be observed from now on.

No contractor is now allowed to start works without producing the insurance document required by LASBCA, nor can any work site be launched without authorization from the governmental agency.
