Dai-ichi plans to buy a U.S. life insurer

According to local sources, the Dai-ichi Life Group is poised to increase its capital to acquire Protective Life, a U.S. life insurance company, for the sum of 5 billion USD.

The 2nd Japanese life insurer confirms, in response to this information, the purchase of a U.S. life insurance company, but points out that no decision has been made yet.
