Davos Forum: creation of a consortium dedicated to microinsurance

On the occasion of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, which was held from 21 to 24 January 2015 in Davos, Switzerland, eight major players from the insurance, brokerage and reinsurance markets announced the creation of a consortium to support microinsurance in developing countries.

This project aims to provide insurance coverage to the poorest classes . The companies concerned are committed to establish 10 microinsurance companies over the next ten years in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

The consortium includes American International Group, Aspen Insurance Holdings, Catlin Group, Guy Carpenter in association with Marsh & McLennan, Hamilton Insurance Group, Transatlantic Reinsurance, XL Group and Zurich Insurance.
