Decline in the number of insurance agents

In 2014, the number of insurance agents practicing in Morocco showed a slight decline. The number of these intermediaries went down from 1331 to 1320 in one year. The number of brokers, however, remains unchanged with a total of 409 participants.

Unlike the two traditional networks, bancassurance has experienced, in turn, a significant growth with 5 670 bank offices now allowed to purchase insurance operations against 5467 the previous year.

Territorial coverage analysis has shown a high concentration in the insurance distribution network in the Casablanca-Settat region. The latter has the largest number of intermediaries with 36.8%. Rabat-Salé-Kenitra-and Fez-Meknes they respectively hold 14.5% and 10.9%.
