Decline of the insurance sector’s activity in 2004

A decline in the insurance sector activity has been reported for the year 2004. Premiums have shrunk by a 1.01% from MDH 12 375.76 million (1 337 million USD) in 2003 to MDH 12 25.76 million (USD 1 323 million) in 2004.
The technical result net of cessions, including financial products is also in plain regression, from 2 607.95 million MDH (USD 282 million) in 2003 to 2 039.72 million MDH (USD 220 million) in 2004, that is a 22% decrease.
Finally, the premium share of the GDP is 2.75% in 2004 against 2.94% in 2003.
