Devastating floods in China

flood chinaOn 22 July 2021, the province of Henan, whose capital is Zhengzhou, located nearly 700 km south of Beijing, has sustained torrential rains that led to devastating floods.

In three days, Zhengzhou recorded the equivalent of one year's rainfall.

Up to now, 33 people were reported dead, 8 declared missing and 376 000 were evacuated.

The province also suffered significant material damage mainly water and electricity cuts, blocked roads, submerged neighbourhoods, subway lines sunken, 200 000 hectares of crops destroyed.

Due to this major disaster, an emergency aid of 100 million CNY (15 million USD) has been released.
