Drought and fires, positive factors for insurance

The rating agency S&P has estimated that the impact of fires and drought that hit Russia this summer on insurers, will be limited because few risks were insured. Awareness among the population of the need to be covered against such events could, according to the agency, boost the sector. Official statistics show that 17% of agricultural land have suffered drought and 1800 homes were affected during the recent events.
