Earthquake insurance definitively adopted

The national Swiss board has voted for the institution of compulsory earthquake insurance, in addition to the natural catastrophe guarantee. This cover was proposed a few years ago but was rejected mainly by the Alemannic owners association with the list of natural damages under cover ruling out earthquakes. Risk premium does not exceed 10 cents (0.1 USD) per 1000 CHF (1094 USD) layer insured while the deductible is set at 10% for a risk occurring every 500 years in theory.
