Fitch Ratings, outlook raised for Scor and Swiss Re

Following the posting of encouraging quarterly results, Fitch Ratings upgraded Scor and Swiss Re’s rating outlook from "stable" to "positive". The agency is satisfied with the financial strength, improved profitability and the strategy displayed by the French reinsurer for which it maintains its A + rating.

As far as Swiss Re is concerned, Fitch highlighted the good diversification of the company’s portfolio and its dominant position behind Munich Re.

This has allowed the Swiss reinsurer to better address competition. Its current A+ rating is poised to evolve favorably. The agency expects an increase of turnover for the reinsurer over the next two years in both non-life and life insurance.
